I've tried to install the OS X 10.11 Developer Beta 1 on a MacBook Pro 2,2 (late 2006, ATI X1600, EFI32). I could easily create the patched Installer with my Guide from Yosemite. It booted with the Boot.efi by Pike and loads OSX 10.11, but then it gets stuck on the first Install Screen where you normally have to click 'Continue'. Launch Disk Utility. Connect the external drive to your Mac device and make sure it is detected. Launch the Disk Utility tool ( go to. Simply click on “Partition”. Make sure the partition layout reads “1 partition”. Name the partition. You can use a name like “Mac. Right click on the Mac OS X 10.9 VM on the left side and go to Settings. Go to CD/DVD and go to Browse and mount the darwin.iso file. Make sure Connected is checked. The VMware Tools installer should pop right up after which you should just click Install VMware Tools and then reboot upon completion. Use a Mac OS X installation Disc. If you’re unable to use Internet Recovery Mode or create a bootable USB installer, you can still use a Mac OS X installation disc. These discs are available for OS X Snow Leopard, OS X Lion, and OS X Mountain Lion. If your Mac is from 2012 or earlier, there was an installation disc in the original box. New Mac systems built in 2010 and later support an Internet Recovery mode, which can be used to download the boot image generally stored on the OS X Recovery partition so you can run diagnostics.
